Staying yet Moving
The house we lived in the first year and 4 months. We lived with George's Mom. It worked but wasn't our own home. In May of 1967 Mark made his appearance and brought such joy into lives.
With this the desire for our own place grew and we started looking .
In November we bought this small house trailer (8x32) and set it up in the yard. How cozy and homey it was. 1we used the basement in the house for storage and so managed quite well.
In April of 1969 Paul was born and our little place was getting somewhat crowded. Now what were we going to do?
One day George came home with the answer. the credit union had repos- sessed an addition (10x30)for a housetrailer and it would fit onto our trailer. We felt as if the Lord had dropped it from the heavens for we only had to pay $200 for it. George got some help and they moved home with a tractor and wagon.
The addition had an entrance , a living room and a bedroom. This gave us the room we needed and we saw how the Lord provided.
Then in April of 1972 Barry was born. We still managed quite well but George and a room at the back (10x10) for laundry and storage, etc. We felt we were comfortable now but the the next year, a year and 3 days after Barry,s birthday Christine was born.
Now I said to George that there is no way we are going to build on again, we had to do something else. We went shopping and bought a new housetrailer (14x64) with quite a bit of custom made furniture. we used the addition from the old trailer and so had a spacious living now. We set it up to the side of the yard and were able to landscape it as well. What a blessing it was.
5 years later Melodie was born and made our family complete. We lived in this home for about 12 years.
At this time George,s mom who was 90 yrs by now moved over to Bill & Bernices. We moved back into the house and had to decide whether to renovate or build a new one. we were able to get a grant from the government so we went for the reno. The house needed a total make over -what a big job and living in it as well. (We sold the trailer for what we paid for it 12 years before.)The results we very satisfying and what a blessing.
Through all these changes over the years we have felt Gods guiding hand and we rejoice in Him.
